Hali didn't grow up in a traditional "artistic" household, but creativity always found its way in

through her mother's love of food, handmade details, and small moments of beauty, and her father's curiosity and practicality as a computer scientist.

She loved art growing up but chose a more traditional path, until ceramics brought her back: gently, messily, and unexpectedly.

She started throwing on the wheel in 2020, looking for something tactile and grounding. She was bad at it at first (and maybe hated it), but ceramics taught her to let go of perfectionism and make for the sake of making.

As the shelves filled, friends started asking to buy the mugs, then strangers did too. That's how Clay Baby Ceramics was born: a practice shaped around color, care, and letting things be imperfect.

Hali's work is dyed with mason stains, glazed abstractly, and formed by hand on the wheel, drawing on natural textures and woody tones. She keeps her glazes minimal so each piece's shape and spirit can speak for themselves, a nod to her appreciation for the joy of well-used, well-loved things.
